The committee voted 11 to 4 against it. There were too many questions on the safety profile and if patients would use it for off label use. They felt that it would be best managed by a doctor. The vote is just a recommendation, but usually it is followed

Self treatment can lead to an increase of anaphylaxis and asthma attacks.
